We all had the“American-Mzansi” dream (combination of the fancy life and the need to change the society… and affording black tax of course!!); driving fast cars- very futuristic with us being the ambassadors of style, or on the millennial side a more “radical change to the system” -sense of doing things differently, everyone and anyone having a shot at something that could change their lives, but on the real side of things, astaggering 56%of the dreamers (young and free) are unemployed (and broke).

Staying safe in the hustle…

In these instances the young, passionate andunfortunately naïve- fall victim to scams, the latest being currency trading or Forex trading, whilst trading currency is safe (though with grey lines regarding its regulation, I’m not saying it’s a gamble or maybe I am- I suggest you be sure to know when to stop) several shady attempts emerge with the purpose of scoring a few bucks from the unsuspecting, and pray that it not be you. Just don’t pay anything in advance and be sure to Ask!Ask!Ask!, scammers hate that crap.

Whilst scams are looming, there are still a few good opportunities out there (not everyone wants to rob you-you know!!) some great multilevel marketing strategies (e.g. Amway) exist too, others may argue about their legitimacy, but if it’s not illegal and definitely not a scam, you may as well make some money out of them, a whole lot if you ask me, or online currencies (e.g. Bitcoin) -it must be one of the fastest growing money making trends so why not ride with the wave. And of coursecurrency trading too AKA Forex (just because I shamed it a bit doesn’t mean it can’t work for you), though best you know how to sieve the crap out of the riches especially when selecting a broker.

The one undoubtedly reputable way to establish yourself would be to start something of your own, in one of Cyril Ramaphosa’s speecheshe said that “The millions of jobs that people need will not be created by governments or big industry alone. They will be created by emerging entrepreneurs” well, if government tells you that majority of the people won’t be getting jobs from them then you might as well start thinking about something of your own, not only will you enjoy the freedom of being your own boss, but also the pride of calling it your baby (we all love babies), it could never be easy judging from the different testimonies of established business people but it never is with anything worthwhile and yet it is seemingly possible working with the likes of NYDA and SEDA.

Studying anyway…

Education is still arguably key,uBabaKaDuduzani has proven that having all the money and status still doesn’t make one any reputable, or smart, or legit, or… but at least get nerdy and slay the crap ‘outta em’ numbers if you dare. Whilst many may seek the quickest ways to make cash you still don’t want to be the rich and uneducated folk in a suit having nightmares of helping your kid with homework one day or unable to converse with your peers just because your logic just doesn’t blend in or coz you sound like something tweeter can feast on, and of course many will agree that it is a plus in the courtship game to know your 123s and ABCs. Though it may not promise a job like the early days, it does promise a brain well-articulated and a voice worth hearing.

Even with the “American-Mzansi” dream hard to achieve, a good research in current opportunities and a tint of hustle will certainly always land you somewhere.
