Shortly after the 2009 polls, the corruption charges Zuma was facing regarding the 1999 arms deal were dropped by then acting NPA boss, MokotediMpshe. Since then the DA has challenged the matter in court. Zuma took to Supreme Court to appeal but his legal team has recently admitted that the decision to withdraw the charges was irrational.
