The spy tapes are back, they rose from the ashes at least that is what I think. I am saying this because many Zuma supporters thought they were dead and buried when the NPA decided to drop them in 2009 prior to Jacob Zuma steping in as president. Now as we all are looking at this decision to re-evaluate that decision and waiting to see the direction of Zuma’s charges, with the DA welcoming the decision of the appeals court with warm hands, then Mr President does what we have been anticipating, firing Blade.

Just when we are warmed up and ready to see what’s going to happen to this case against Zuma and the charges he is accused of, he goes on to shift our attention from that and we are all now paying attention to his cabinet reshuffle again. Before you even know who is moved to where and who is fired, one thing you must be well sure is there is always going going to be controversy resulting from the reshuffle. The SACP has been very clear on where it stands about President Zuma and the state capture to the previous cabinet reshuffle and that led to Mr Blade Nzimande being axed from the cabinet. The former high education minister has been replaced by Hlengiwe Mkhize.

It is no surprise that Blade has been fired, we knew this a few months back, but the President realised that it’s already out there so he layed low for a short while before firing him. Let me give you a quick insight on this Mkhize lady, she was Minister of home affairs, she suspended the Director Mr Apleni without an explanation. I mean why would you suspend someone without a reason, give them a reason give us the public a reason, even Zuma grafted an unrealistic intelligence report when firing Pravin Gordon and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas. Blade Nzimande has been outspoken and has been a critic of Zuma in recent months and we are not surprised he is axed, I mean Makhosi Khoza saved them the energy and resigned, question is who is next? This is the second reshuffle in 6 months with Zuma anything is possible, we may just wake up to another reshuffle before the month of December, you never know.

As much as we are saddened by the reshuffle and the firing of Blade Nzimande, here is what to be happy about. We all know about the incident that occurred in 2014 that involved the President’s son Duduzane Zuma that led to two people dying. The Randburg Magistrates court found that it was Zuma who was responsible for the accident, but our NPA refused to prosecute. It’s ok we are not going to question that now, but what’s exciting is that Duduzane Zuma will be pursued by the famous Gerrie Nel, how wonderful is that? This means Zuma will be facing a criminal charge of culpable homicide. The Civil Rights organisation announced that they will pursue the prosecution after the NPA failed to do in 2015. All I can say it, good luck Mr Duduzane.

Ok back to the reshuffle, the biggest surprise of them all is the appointment of ANC MP Bongani Bongo to such a powerful position of State Security. Many people including myself do not know this Bongo, people are asking where he is from and why him? Well from my findings he is from Nelspruit and has only at the start of the fifth parliament in 2014. 2014? And he is given such a powerful position? It’s quite obvious that a lot id going on here. He is said to be a firm defender or supporter or whatever you want to call it for President Zuma. He is said to have proven himself on being a stout defender for the president in debates in National Assembly and where he served in committees, including those in defense and military veterans, justice and correctional services. Now we see why he has been appointed, no further questions form my side. As for Mahlobo making way for Bongo and moving all the way to Energy, I don’t know what to say well all I can say is, this reshuffle is a mess. Zuma placed Mahlobo there purposefully so he could do as he pleases, does nuclear deal ring any bell to you? Huh? Let me just leave it there with this reshuffling issue, now before I entirely let it go here is how the reshuffling went:

Higher education minister Blade Nzimande has been replaced by Hlengiwe Mkhize, former Home aaffirs minister.

Buti Manamela has been appointed her deputy

Ayanda Dlodlo is now the Minister of Home affairs, replaced by Mmamoloko Kubayi as Communication Minister

State security Minister David Mahlobo has been appointed Energy Minister with Bongani Thomas Bongo replacing him.
