The group was formed in 2003 by two brothers who also happened to be HIP-HOP producers Marcus and Graiton Dauda Pasanje. The name Daredevil means a recklessly bold person (Merriam-Webster dictionary) which characterizes the Daredevilz music style, BOLD and EXPERIMENTAL. The group broke into the Malawian Hip hop scene with a single “Hate it but am hot” which debuted number one on all hip-hop charts. The misconception about the meaning of the group’s name and their bold and” in your face” lyrics prevented THE DAREDEVILZ from breaking into the mainstream in spite of their critically acclaimed music. In 2006 they put out their first mix tape titled “Welcome to the Dark side” which featured hits like I rap nice, Me and pass the drink featuring yung kay. The project was well received on the urban scene and gained the Hip-hop duo more fans and popularity. Following a four year hiatus when the duo focused on production, the group reinvented it s material and started working on a new projects which saw the release of hits like only luv in 2011 followed by close to you in 2012, Love is in the air and Mukuti cha in 2014 . These songs have gained THE DAREDEVILZ well deserved mainstream audience and popularity with Love is in the air and Mukuti cha going up to number one in all music charts in major radio stations in Malawi, the music video being applauded by critics from newspapers and radio stations and enjoying massive air on local TV stations. 2017 has seen the release of their first single no devilz off their new mixtape WTTD2…WELCOME TO THE DARKSIDE PART TWO which has been received with rave reviews from music pundits and fans alike.
