Ifani done did it! While many will say that his #1st Day Gold movement was technically not realised as he missed the bar by a few hundred sales, he did however hit the proverbial nail on the head just a few hours later and nab that gold. I Believes In Me becomes the first hip hop album to reach certified gold in less than 48 hours in South Africa. The bar has been risen. If that doesn't make your blood boil over from excitement then check your pulse please as you may not have one! Hard work will surpass any talent you have all the while not doing a thing. Vukuzenzele bruh. Ifani has shown you it's possible. How are you liking the album so far?

Still on hard work:

Sultry singer Nandi Mngoma took to her instagram to show love and support to Riky Rick and Cassper Nyovest whilst silencing the rumour of overnight success.

"GOD is good to these brothers! Why? I remember @rikyrickworld I think about 4 years ago (If not more than that) giving out his DOPE mixtapes to myself and many others, and that mixtape was so dope.. My mom even liked it.. Off course some songs I skipped...LOL! I remember this cheese boy who all the girls from the private schools used to love and fight over (Yes ladies have ALWAYS loved Riky lol!). But this guy always used to produce these amazing beats (I still want my beats Riky). And @casspernyovest well I think it was 3 years ago I called him to speak to him about a certain producer (who must be kicking himself now- no names mentioned) who screwed both of us over as two kids hustling this music thing with NO money.

MORAL OF THE STORY HERE.. These guys have BEEN at it! Success definitely isn't over night and they deserve all the success they're getting now. As I know first hand, how hard they have BEEN hustling. Big up to these brothers. Support them! This is their passion. #Proud #NotIndustryTalk #RealTalk"

Words. I still dream of a day where soul/rnb/pop singers will come together and latch on and learn from the wonders that are being realised in the SA Hip hop fraternity. Many times we've heard that Rnb has no real following here, but I call bullshit. Hip hop didn't wait for a movement to be created, it stood up on it's hind legs and beat its chest and roared. Then changed and made history. Forget status quo, make things happen.

This is a woman that's made things happen for herself and is now doing it for others. Yonc`e is increasing her empire and has signed three young girls on as her mentees under her label Parkwood Entertainment.

According to Page Six:

The first contract covers LA-based sisters Chloe Bailey, 17, and Halle Bailey, 15. Beyoncé’s manager came across a YouTube video of the duo belting out “Pretty Hurts,” a song from Beyoncé’s last album. The video has over 10 million views.

The girls’ father is psyched that Beyonce is their mentor, as any dad would be, we’re sure.

Their father, Douglas, gushes in court papers, “We cannot think of a better person to help guide the girls,” adding his daughters “worship” Bey. Their $1 million contract provides for up to six albums over five years. It awards Beyoncé 15 percent of the sisters’ gross earnings.

As for the third young lady, 14-year-old Sophie Beem of New York:

Beyoncé also signed a third singer, 14-year-old Sophie Beem of New York, to her Parkwood Entertainment company.

Beem inked a $560,000 deal after she wowed Parkwood executives. Beem finished in the top 40 contestants on “The X Factor” in 2012.

I see Mrs Carter is taking the old leaf from her mogul husband in the ways of business. I tilt my tiara to her. She's been very vocal over the years about her need to empower women and it looks like she's continuing on where she slays best.

BTTC was a sensory carnage. Skateboards, sneakers, hoops, zonke. We took the liberty of compiling a highlights video for you that include the battles, K.O, Ricky Rick, Onyx and more.

I need help finding these guys. If you know who they are and where I can get them please send me an email on bnremag@gmail.com. The sneakers that you see on the pictures are designed and manufactured by this talented duo. Amazing right? I'd very much like to interview them and get them out there.

The Durban Youth Hip Hop Festival was this past weekend. According to MSN Entertainment it was a good time. They report:

"The second annual Durban Youth Hip-Hop festival held at Peoples Park in Durban was a smash hit! As hip hop heads came to celebrate urban culture through music and dance. The headline act Rick Ross, had everyone on their feet and singing along to some of his hits songs like The Devil Is a Lie, Diced Pineapples, Stay Schemin & Hold Me Back.

We were surprised that the man actually spent 45 minutes on stage, considering that he was sharing the stage with other acts. Local acts also held their own. ,, Dreamteam, Kwesta, Reason, Ricky Rick, Zakwe, Duncan and Okmalumkoolcat were some of the best performers. Popular DJ's who were on the decks include, C-Live, Lab, Junior The Rocka,Sonic and Vumar."

How was it Durban?
