Miss DT AKA Miss Doubletake, was born & raised in Tacoma, WA. She began pursuing her God given talents at a very age, in church productions, Children's choir, dance teams, etc. Over the years, she grew to love being an entertainer. For her, being on stage performing is like a natural high. She began writing her own songs at the age of 10, but didn't record her first official song until 2009. Her first loves were singing, acting, writing & dancing, but rapping took the cake for her. Miss DT has endured many hardships in life, to say the least. This is a key aspect that makes her such a relatable artist. She lost her younger brother in 2012 to a drowning accident & took a long break from music thereafter. It wasn't until 2015 that she got back into the studio & realized she could never go without music in her life. She believes Yeshua blessed each & every one of us with a gift, it just wouldn't be right not to share that gift with the world. Her hit songs include "Swiper no Swiping", "Work it", "Yerped up" Along with artist 50 Cow & Stunna Kid, P-Kay's "We came to Party" & most recent "Private Party". With her incredible drive & determination, you can expect great things from her in the future!

1. Inspiration behind your stage name Miss DoubleTake?

In early 2008 I joined a "Swagg Clique" based out of Lancaster,CA called "WESOP/WESOF"(We steez on Purpose/We steez on feez) I decided to make my own clique based out of WA state & named it "Doubletakez", meaning people have to do a "double take" when we come around. We stayed fly, so they had to look twice. I was the CEO, so by default I was Miss Doubletake

2. What art content do you pursue more between Music and Acting?

I started acting at a very early age in church plays, commercial work, etc. I didn't start rapping until late 2009, so growing up I would say I pursued acting more. Now, I'm solely focused on my music until I get my current projects completed.

3. Share the pain you went through and how did that motivates your hip hop sound after losing your brother over the accident took event in 2012?

Honestly, words could never express the amount of pain my family & I endured when my younger brother passed away. He was my wing man, my heart & biggest supporter. So when he was gone, nothing was the same. He used to help me with song ideas & keep me motivated. It took years for me to even get back into the studio after he passed away, because he was such a huge part of my life. I had to realize God gave me this talent for a reason, and until my time is up on this earth it's my duty to share it with the world. My brother wouldn't want it any other way.

4. What inspired you as an Act to do music again?

Out of nowhere, I was flown to Atlanta by a well known rapper. The atmosphere of being back around music & other motivated artists really sparked my fuse. In that moment, I knew music had a hold on my heart & I just couldn't give up on myself any longer. Shortly after I returned home is when I wrote my hit record, "Private Party".

5. Which female rapper do you look up to?

I look up to the female rappers who paved the way for artists such as myself today. For example, Missy Elliot, Lil' Kim, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah& Salt & Pepper just to name a few. Some current artists that I admire would be Nicki Minaj, Kash Doll, Cardi B & Remy Ma. I respect any female who is willing to put in the grind & hustle it takes to be successful in this game.

6. Since Trap is trending worldwide, do you consider yourself as a trap composer?

No, I don't follow trends. I believe I'm in my own lane, I don't like to limit myself with genres or titles.

7. Which one of these singles (Swiper no Swipping, Work it or Yerped up) you believe made waves in your musical career?

I would definitely say "Yerped Up" made the most waves in my music career. I had many bookings just off that song alone & it also got a lot of radio play. It's one of those classic songs that I can still rock to til' this day.

8. Which female rappers you feel they’re a competition in your game?

My biggest competition is myself, nobody can do me like I can.

9. Any artists do you suggest working with on your next project?

A few artists I would LOVE to work with would be Kehlani, Gucci Mane, Bryson Tiller, Migos, Drake, Kash Doll &Cardi B.

10. When are you planning to drop your Album?

Spring 2018 titled "Color me Bad"

11. Private Party has been trending on digital platform and in South Africa, what motion made you to compose this hit?

My manager/Best friend, Al Bino, suggested that I work on a producers beat that he was familiar with, named Rocky Laurent. The beat was titled "Private Party" already, so all I did was stuck to the theme & the rest was history! One of my personal favourite songs that I've made by far.

12. Do you have any relationship with Migos crew?

No, but I would love to work with them in the future.

13. Do you see any expansion/growth on females being rappers?

As long as female rappers don't get so caught up in being sex symbols that their lyrics have no content. I believe there is no limit to what female rappers can do. Look at Nicki Minaj, she's a mogul & selling more records than many male & female artists period. Gender shouldn't be a limitation.

14. Your Fan base have grown aggressively after your feature with Pkay. Do you consider coming to South Africa on tour?

I would love to tour in Sout Africa that would most definitely be a highligh

t in my music career. Hopefully we can make it happen sooner than later! Pkay has been very supportive of my music career, I'm grateful.

15. Where do you see yourself in next coming decade?

In the next coming decade I see myself owning businesses & being a very successful artist. I

know that I'm capable of doing whatever I put my mind to. It's go time!
